This cracker of a snapper was caught by John using a Benda-1 slow-jigging rod off his kayak up in the far north. John estimates it being 15lbs which is a massive effort on such light gear well done mate.
The Benda-2 with HD-100 reel with its 12kgs of drag never looked under any real pressure. The kingi snatched an 80 gram Glad-eye in Jolly Jarv colours.
When the snapper came on the bite we hauled in a few using the 6/0 and 4/0 Flash-As flasher rigs with a chunk of squid loaded on for good measure The lightweight Benda-1's made for a fair fight and a great evenings fishing.
